Our Mission
At Pomaria Lutheran Church, we strive to embody the commandment Jesus gave his disciples on his last night with them:

We may never be the biggest church in Newberry County, but what we lack in people, we make up in terms of spirit and heart.
Our activities regulating include people from other churches and denominations.

Sacred Snapshots: A Visual Journey Through Faith
During Lent, we gathered weekly in our fellowship hall for Lenten services. We worshipped with Holden Evening Prayer and a monologue series called "Artisans of the Crucifixion."
We hosted the World Day of Prayer in 2024, and following our worship, was a reception featuring Palestinian foods.
Our quilters show off a few of our quilts, ready to be sent to Lutheran World Relief to go wherever they are needed most.
On the first Sunday of September, we bless our quilts in worship and show off our handiwork.
This was taken on Good Friday, before our Tenebrae worship service. We are a liturgical church, and gather several times during Holy Week to remember our Lord's passion.
OUR PARISH PARTNER
St. John's Irmo
We share a pastor with St. John's Lutheran Church in Irmo. Pastor Michele Fischer splits her time between the two churches, with Pomaria worshipping at 9 am and St. John's worshipping at 11 am.
